Dr Michael Wendt taking measurements during a test run of the Liquatech prototype furnace

Top
The CSIRO-Liquatech hybrid coal and gas turbine burns waste from coal washeries and gas from underground mines, in a rotating kiln, to produce electricity. The power generated could be used to run the mine, and the surplus added to the grid. This would reduce greenhouse emissions and eliminate heaps of coal waste.
