Conducting research into wellbore instability mechanisms and drilling fluid and shale interactions

Top
CSIRO has developed software that can be used fro the evaluation of wellbore instability and drilling fluid design. The software integrates a range of independantly developed stand-alone software packages.

Known as the Drillers Wellbore Stability Tool, it is aimed at providing drilling engineers, who may have limited specialist knowledge, with a tool to address wellbore instability problems encountered during the drilling of oil and gas wells.
