Australia is free from bluetongue disease. But some strains of the virus are present in northern Australia in insects and cattle.

'On alert for Bluetongue' is a training program intended to alert veterinarians and other animal health professionals to the potential threat of bluetongue. It instructs them in the epidemiology and the clinical and post mortem signs of the disease. A video, support notes and slide set are all available for this program.
