Sweep nets were used in the Wet Season to capture ground-foraging and grass-layer insects. Results from the CSIRO Kapalga Fire Experiment in Kakadu National Park indicate that fire has surprisingly little effect on overall numbers of most insect groups, although the composition of species is strongly affected.
