CSIRO Livestock Industries has identified specific peptide motifs in the DNA replication machinery critical for the reproduction of bacteria. In collaboration with the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, these peptide motifs have been developed into exciting antibiotic lead compounds aimed at inhibiting bacterial DNA replication.
