Buffalo

Top
A buffalo. In Lao Peoples Democratic Republic (PDR), many villagers rely on the use of buffaloes for the production of the dry-season rice crop for the coming year. If the animals are infected with Foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), planting is severely curtailed. CSIRO Livestock Industries is managing a project to improve diagnosis and control of FMD in Lao PDR.
